Lita Rossana Ford, popularly called Lita Ford, is a British-born American musician, vocalist and songwriter, who was the guitarist of the all-girl hard rock band, The Runaways, in the late 1970s.Their punkish sound and rebellious lyrics helped them get noticed within the world of rock. The Runaways did not prove to be particularly successful on the scene in The United States. However, their fame grew internationally, especially in Japan. Ford launched a heavy metal solo career following the group broke up in 1979. Ford began vocal training followed by her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin at the Edge'. Ford was absent from the world of music for some months after the albums failed to garner much acclaim. The hit album Lita was released in 1989, was the catalyst for her comeback. Both the song "Kiss me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. Unfortunately, her success was short-lived, and she vanished from the industry for several years. In 1995, she released 'Black and then a couple of years later, 'Wicked Wonderland" came out, and she was back. Her latest album was released in 2016, titled 'Time Capsule. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
